Wellness Wednesday: How to Live Unshaken in a Shaky World

Wellness Wednesday: How to Live Unshaken in a Shaky World

I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

We live in a stressful world. We face many pressures, demands, and expectations every day. We may feel, overwhelmed, or insecure by the situations we encounter. We may wonder how we can cope, manage, or succeed in such a world.

But there is a way to stay calm and confident in a stressful world, and that is to keep our eyes on what matters most. What matters most is not the world, but the source of life, peace, and joy. What matters most is not the problem, but the solution. What matters most is not the situation, but the perspective.

When we keep our eyes on what matters most, we will not be shaken by the world. We will have calmness, confidence, and courage in our hearts. We will have clarity, wisdom, and focus in our minds. We will have faith, hope, and love in our souls.

But how can we keep our eyes on what matters most in a stressful world? Here are three practical steps that we can take:

  • Be mindful of the present. Often, we are not aware of the present, or we are distracted or dissatisfied with it. We may not notice or appreciate the beauty, the opportunity, or the gift that the present moment offers. We may also dwell on the past, or worry about the future, and miss the present. But being mindful of the present can help us to stay calm and confident in a stressful world, by helping us to enjoy and embrace the present, and to make the most of it. Being mindful of the present can also help us to be grateful, positive, and optimistic, and to see the good in every situation.
  • Be aware of the bigger picture. Often, we are not aware of the bigger picture, or we are focused or fixated on the smaller details. We may not see or understand the purpose, the meaning, or the value of our lives, or of the situations we face. We may also magnify or exaggerate the difficulties, the risks, or the consequences of our actions, and lose sight of the bigger picture. But being aware of the bigger picture can help us to stay calm and confident in a stressful world, by helping us to see and align with the higher power, the greater plan, and the ultimate goal of our lives, and of the situations we face. Being aware of the bigger picture can also help us to be humble, flexible, and adaptable, and to see the possibilities in every challenge.
  • Be connected to the source. Often, we are not connected to the source, or we are disconnected or separated from it. We may not feel or acknowledge the presence, the power, or the love of the source of life, peace, and joy. We may also rely on ourselves, or on other things or people, and neglect or ignore the source. But being connected to the source can help us to stay calm and confident in a stressful world, by helping us to receive and experience the life, the peace, and the joy that the source offers. Being connected to the source can also help us to be faithful, loyal, and devoted, and to see the source in everything and everyone.

As we follow these steps, we will keep our eyes on what matters most, and we will stay calm and confident in a stressful world. We will also inspire and influence others to do the same, and to experience the calmness, confidence, and courage that come from keeping our eyes on what matters most.
